Day 21 – Living in the Overflow

“May every one of you overflow with the grace and favour of our LORD Jesus Christ.”
—Philippians 4:23 (The Passion Translation)

As we come to this final day of our 21-days of fasting and prayer, we want to encourage you to seek to be continually filled with the Lord’s presence and power that you might experience the overflow of His blessing in your life.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).

The grace of God is the favour of God. Romans 5:2 (AMPC) says, “Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favour) in which we [firmly and safely] stand.” Living in the grace of God is living in the favour of God. The LORD wants us to experience His favour wherever we go and with whoever we meet, every day of our lives.

What is the favour of God? It’s God personally acting on our behalf, doing whatever it takes for us to succeed and flourish. His favour will make a way where there is no way, open doors where there are no doors, and do the impossible in the midst of the most impossible situations

We see the favour of God in demonstration in Joseph’s life, in spite of being in prison: “The LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (Genesis 39:21-NKJV). God’s favour kept lifting up Joseph until he occupied the highest office in Egypt, directly under Pharaoh.

God desires to bless you with His favour. Psalm 5:12 (NIV) says, “Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as with a shield.” That’s us! Luke 2:14 (NIV) says, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.” That’s us! And Jesus said in Luke 4:19 (AMPC) that He was anointed “to proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of The LORD [the day when salvation and the free favours of God profusely abound.”

We encourage you to keep pressing into the kingdom of God through worship. Continue to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, through reading/studying His Word, and prayer. Let God use you and the spiritual gifts He has given you to serve in ministry to others. Be a living witness for Christ to those who cross your path in life who don’t know Him. Continue to seek God first and make His kingdom the priority of your life. Then we will walk living in the overflow of God’s presence and favour throughout this year and decade!
