Day of Fasting & Prayer - November

Note: We have moved our Monthly Day of Fasting & Prayer to the first Wednesday of every month.

My Times are In Your Hands

One of the most comforting truths of Scripture is the reality that our lives and times are in God’s hands. The history of Abram, is a powerful illustration of how God calls, guides, provides and ultimately fulfills His purpose for our lives and our purpose in His kingdom.

We must fully believe that God has a purpose and destiny for our lives.
Just like Abram, God calls us to himself and into His eternal kingdom. If we respond to the Lord by choosing to follow Him, we enter into the destiny He has planned for our lives. Like Abram, we may be required to leave our country, relatives and immediate family to go where He wants us to go. However, the reward for our obedience is beyond anything we could imagine!

The journey to our destiny will require us to continue to walk by faith and trust God.
God had promised to bless Abram and that through him all the nations of the world would be blessed. But it would happen in God’s timing and not his own. Like Abram, we must trust that the promises God has made to us, will be fulfilled according to His timing and not ours. It will require that we learn to ‘wait’ for God to bring the breakthroughs necessary to fulfill our destiny within those plans.

Our God is a God of breakthroughs.
God made a promise to bless Abram and Sarai with a child who would be their heir. Years had passed and they were wondering if God was going to make good on His promise. It looked like an impossibility but our God is one of breakthroughs. They even felt like God might need their help to fulfill that plan. So Sarah suggested and Abram agreed to have a child through Sarai’s servant. This unleased untold misery for them all. We need to reject any good suggestions or plans that are not divinely-ordained by God. This is a kingdom principle; the enemy will try to get us to take matters into our own hands to bring about the promises of God. He desires to send us a counterfeit before the true promise; don’t settle for an ‘Ishmael’ when God has promised an ‘Isaac’. We need to be patient and allow him to bring His promises to reality, the way He chooses and when He chooses to do it.

God will fulfill all that He promises, but we must be patient. He invites us to commit our futures in His hands and trust Him to bring it all to pass, because our times are ultimately in His capable hands!
