Week of Fasting & Prayer - September 2022

Back To School

More than ever, schools need our prayers. We are in a fierce battle for the next generation. The enemy is targeting children younger and younger. The biggest spiritual battles are being fought in our preschool and elementary schools, not to mention our high schools, colleges, and universities. It is so important to pray for our schools, teachers and administrators, bus drivers, crossing guards, parents, and caregivers.

The enemy is waging an all-out war to indoctrinate children with a secular worldview that is in direct conflict with a Biblical worldview. One of the most important things we can do as Christians is to pray. No spiritual battles are won without prayer. Prayer makes the difference. Nothing of eternal value happens without it. So, let’s give ourselves to fasting and prayer as people head back to school this fall…it will make an eternal difference!

Prayer Points

Let's Pray:

  • For God to command his angels to guard and protect our schools (Psalm 91:11)

  • For students and teachers to know and believe they are loved by God who created them (Psalm 139:13-14; John 3:16)

  • For teachers to welcome and love the students (1 Corinthians 16:14)

  • For teachers to be clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and wisdom (1 Peter 5:5; Galatians 5:22-23)

  • For schools to have godly teachers, coaches, staff, etc.

  • For teachers to speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15)

  • Pray any teaching that goes against God’s Word, would fall on deaf ears (Colossians 2:8-9)

  • For students to honour and respect their teachers, bus drivers, crosswalk guards (1 Peter 2:13-14)

  • For students to show love and respect to their teachers (Luke 6:31)

  • For students who come from difficult home situations to be shown love, mercy, and compassion (Philippians 2:4)

  • For students to be rooted and grounded in their faith (Colossians 2:6-7)

  • For students who are believers, that their faith will not be shaken by those who attack or question it (Ephesians 4:15)

  • For students to have wisdom (James 1:5)

  • For kids not to be swayed by peer pressure but instead stand for the truth with boldness (1 John 3:7)

  • For students who are Christ followers that they will know they are ambassadors of Christ, and his desire is to use them to reach other students/teachers. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Prayer Declaration

Father, we thank you for the start of another school year. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so will you surround our educators, students, and all those who work in the educational system. Jehovah, send your angels to guard and protect our schools, and to bring our students into their destinies in Jesus’ name. Father, we pray that this year will be an unusual year because your presence will be strong in every school district and board. You will lift up your right hand to protect our students, teachers, coaches, and workers from all forms of evil.

Jehovah Nissi, expose and uproot the schemes of the devil in and around our education system. In Jesus’ name we decree and declare that any evil agenda will be crushed in this school year. Father, when the devil comes in like a flood, your standard and banner will be raised against them. Release a greater measure of grace (great grace) upon the believers who are students, teachers, and workers. Lead them into triumph and bring them victories, this school year. “Now may the grace and joyous favour of the Lord Jesus Christ, the unambiguous love of God and the precious communion of the Holy Spirit be theirs continually.” So shall it be.
